Mademoiselle Ricci is a green-aldehyde type perfume, presenting a fresh, lively, and modern fragrance. Its composition includes Kazanlick rose, oakmoss, absolute royal lily, Florence iris, Indian sandalwood, and Arabian galbanum, resulting in vivid, unexpected, and slightly biting notes. This perfume balances freshness with mystery, making it a true expression of today’s young woman—the “woman of tomorrow”. It is versatile and suitable for all occasions.
Fragrance Composition:
So what does the original version smell like? It is classified as a spicy green aldehydic floral chypre fragrance for women. "Refreshing and mysterious, an elegant blend of wildflowers and spice." It starts off with a fresh green top, followed by a green floral heart, layered over a mild, powdery floral base.
- Top notes: aldehyde, bergamot, lemon, hyacinth, violet, Arabian galbanum
- Middle notes: lily of the valley, narcissus, lilac, jasmine, spices, Florentine iris, royal lily absolute, violet leaf, Kazanlik damask rose, honeysuckle
- Base notes: cedar, ambergris, Mysore sandalwood, patchouli, oakmoss, musk
Bottles:
The original Mademoiselle Ricci was available in Eau de Toilette concentration only. The EDT splash was available in four sizes and the EDT sprays were available in 4 oz luxe atomizer and a 2 oz refillable atomizer.
Bath and body products were introduced: perfumed soap, perfumed bath foam, and perfumed talc.
In 1972/1973, Mademoiselle Ricci was available in the following formats:
- Presentations: Eau de Toilette (4 sizes); Eau de Toilette atomizers (4 oz Luxury, 2 oz refillable)
- Ancillary Products: Perfumed soap; Perfumed bath foam; Deodorant spray; Perfumed talc.
In 1977/1978, Mademoiselle Ricci was available in the following formats:
- Presentations: Eau de Toilette (4 sizes); Eau de Toilette atomizers (4 oz Luxury, 2 oz refillable)
- Ancillary Products: Perfumed soap; Perfumed bath foam; Perfumed talc.
Fate of the Fragrance:
Discontinued, date unknown. Still being sold in 1992.
Reformulated by Alberto Morillas and relaunched in 2012.
So what does the reformulation smell like? It is classified as a Floral Woody Musk fragrance for women.
- Top notes are wild rose and pink pepper
- Middle notes are nerium oleander, rose hip and laurels
- Base notes are white wood and musk
